Finally, once we’ve paused and processed, we can progress. This is where we choose how to respond to our thoughts. We can consciously choose to challenge the deceptive messages and replace them with more empowering ones.

“You Are Not Your Brain” offers a range of practical tools for implementing this PAUSE-PROCESS-PROGRESS approach. Mindfulness exercises, for example, can help us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings. By pausing to take a few deep breaths and observing our internal state, we can create space for conscious processing and positive change.

Remember, your brain is a powerful tool, but it’s not the only factor shaping your reality. By learning to pause, process, and progress, you can take control of your thoughts and build a more fulfilling life.
